Health Insurance/Doctors

If you have UC Health Insurance, you are covered for US doctor visits until the August after graduation.  All UC students must prove health insurance.  If you have questions, you can email studins@ucmail.uc.edu, call 556-6868 or visit them in the Lindner Center, Suite 334.  See the UC Student Health Plan here: Health Plan See their website here: UC Insurance

The Lindner Center

If you are sick and want to visit the UC Health Center, it is located in the Lindner Center, Suite 335.  Call to make an appointment at 556-2564.  You will pay a co-pay (approximately $20) and your insurance will pay the rest.  Your insurance also covers mental health visits.

Hours for the Health Center: Monday and Thursday, 8:30am-5:30pm, Tuesday and Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, Wednesday, 9:30am-4:30pm.  They are closed on weekends.

If you have another insurance, check with them regarding which doctors they cover.

If you are sick, DO NOT GO TO A HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM!  You will have to pay $1000s of dollars if you do this!  Only go to an emergency room if you have major bleeding or think you are dying!

What if you are sick and the Health Center is closed?  There are many Urgent Care Centers around Cincinnati.  You can go there any time, without an appointment.  Some are open 24 hours a day.  Take a photo ID and your insurance card.  This is like going to the UC Health Center.  Here is a list of Urgent Care Centers within 10 miles of UC: Urgent Care
